Mechanical Engineering Experiment and Training for the students of Shimane University 2022

公開日 2022.09.09

On the 6th of September, the experiment and practical training were held at the National Institute of Technology, Matsue College designed for the students at the Mechanical designing laboratory, Interdisciplinary Faculty of Science and Engineering, Shimane University. Due to time constraints, the training was held only for 1 day, this year. The purpose of this class is to obtain basic knowledge and learn methodology, and the credits will be transferred as one of the activities of the Human Resources Development Program.

5 students in the 4th year of mechanical designing laboratory, Department of Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Interdisciplinary Faculty of Science and Engineering participated in the training.

They learned how to use a machining centre and tried machine processing of work pieces programmed by themselves. The participants reviewed, “It was meaningful because I was able to experience which I cannot at the University” or “I learned that even if we programmed correctly on the computer, it would not always go like the drawing once you actually process with the machine.”

The main content of the training is as follows;
・Machine Processing by CAD/CAM
・Create a machining program using CAD/CAM software, and use that program to cut a workpiece with a multitasking machine
・Tour of Matsue Innovation Hub
