On the 3rd of March 2022, a seminar was held as the 6th NEXTA Forum at the Next Generation Tatara Co-Creation Centre(NEXTA) research building. Unfortunately, we were not able to conduct it face-to-face due to countermeasure for COVID-19, however, more than 50 people including people from local companies and administrative related persons participated in the event..

 We invited Mr. Takuo Toda, the president of Castem, co,ltd, a casting company in Fukuyama city, Hiroshima as a lecturer this time. The theme of the lecture was “Change! If you don’t like it~ A way to refresh your company into an ideal shape~”, and he passionately talked about the history of his company as well as various challenging activities and his thoughts behind it. During the discussion after the lecture, he gave some advice on developing a business plan, etc. and had an active discussion with the participants.

　After the lecture, the participants reviewed saying, “I understood the corporate culture that they work as one to develop technology upgrade as well as reform.” The other participant commented, “It was great to get to know how you can motivate the employees and let them have dreams and achieve goals, as I manage my company.” The other said, “I felt that the attitude to take new ideas in and challenge new things is still lacking in my company.”

　The NEXTA forum is an activity to promote communication between NEXTA and the companies in Shimane prefecture on a regular basis. It is aimed at creating innovation through joint researches, or accepting working adults to the Doctor course (Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology) and training them up to be hard-core technical human resources, and to develop to be a new collaboration.
