On Thursday, June 26, 2025, the 22nd NEXTA Forum was held at the NEXTA Research Building. This event was conducted in a hybrid format, combining both in-person and online participation, and welcomed a wide range of attendees including representatives from companies, research institutions, and universities from within and outside the prefecture.
This time, we were honored to host Mr. Masatoshi Miura from the R&D Headquarters of Miura Co., Ltd. as our guest speaker. His lecture, titled “The History and Technological Evolution of Boilers – Toward the Future”, began with an introduction to the company and provided a detailed explanation of various types of boilers and their historical development.
Under the slogan “Let’s create the world’s best and most affordable boilers,” Miura Co., Ltd. has continued its development efforts. Over the past 65 years, the company has achieved an eightfold increase in evaporation capacity and a 20% improvement in efficiency. Mr. Miura elaborated on the principles behind boilers, the reasons for these advancements, and the company’s recent global expansion and initiatives toward carbon neutrality.
During the Q&A session, participants actively engaged with a variety of questions, leading to lively discussions. At the end of the lecture, Mr. Miura shared a message for students:
"Regardless of your major, the foundational knowledge you gain as a student will allow you to continue learning and growing after entering the workforce. Stay flexible in your thinking and be proactive in your learning."
