Shimane University annually presents the Shimane University Research Awards to recognize outstanding research achievements, promote excellence in research, and encourage further motivation among researchers.
This year, Professor Junji Shinjo of the Next Generation Tatara Co-Creation Centre was honored with the Research Award (Academic Category) for his significant contributions to both domestic and international research.
Professor Shinjo is a globally recognized leader in computer simulations of complex phenomena involving multiple physical processes. His work focuses on ultra-precise simulations of heat transfer, fluid flow, and solidification, aimed at optimizing metal additive manufacturing processes.
Upon receiving the award, Professor Shinjo commented:
“I am honored to receive this research award. I will use this recognition as motivation to further advance research at the Next Generation Tatara Co-Creation Centre and Shimane University.”
