On Wednesday, 11 of May, and on the 8th of June 2022, the “ Waku-Waku( exciting) Material Seminar” was held. It is designed for the 1st year students as the trial seminar of the Materials Engineering Special Course. For the 2nd and 3rd seminars, the students chose 1 theme each time and participated in the material engineering experiments. There were 8 themes and students were divided into groups by the themes, and then conducted the experiments.

The themes were as follows;
Theme1: Let’s look into the inside of the steel
Theme2: Let’s try “sintering”
Theme3: Understanding the operation and materials for Jet engines
Theme4: Titanium alloys
Theme5: Let’s try to break down the materials
Theme6: Let’s process amorphous metal materials
Theme7:Let’s create a magnet
Theme8: Let’s make an electric switch with thin-film materials

 The students were listening carefully and actively asking questions to the professors and participating actively in the experiments. After the seminar, some participants reviewed, “It was fun to touch actual materials and have experiments.” or “It was difficult but interesting”.

A company visit tour will be held on the Wednesday, the 6th of July, as the next (the 4th ) seminar.
