On Wednesday the 27th of April, we had “Waku-waku (exciting) Material Seminar” for the first time in this fiscal year. “Waku-waku Material Seminar” is organized as a trial seminar for the 1st year students who wish to enrol in the “Materials Science and Engineering Special Course” in future years. We had more than 40 participants this time. The participants first listened to the professor who gave them instructions about the course as well as the NEXTA. Then, they were divided into several groups and had a tour of the NEXTA research building. The participants were listening carefully as the professor explained the facilities and equipment.

  After the event, the participants reviewed saying” It is so bright inside of this building. It makes me feel motivated.” or “I was surprised seeing all these microscopes and other equipment!” The students seemed passionate about getting to know more about the course and research.They were in the queue for asking questions to the professors after the event. 
  The next seminar is scheduled for the 11th of May. We will plan to offer the students some small lectures and experiments during the second and third seminars.
